VICTOR TEST DRIVE

Drive the real console. In your browser.

This is Victor’s actual web console and the Victor Cloud portal, running entirely in your browser against a simulated estate. Click anything. Nothing leaves the page, and a reload starts you fresh.

FOR ADMINISTRATORS

The Victor console

The fictional Prestige Worldwide estate: two datacenters, KVM clusters and a KubeVirt pool, 48 hosts and about 1,800 VMs, with alarms, backups, a migration in progress and a maintenance window.

  • Power VMs on and off, suspend, restart, snapshot and migrate, and watch the tasks run
  • Shut down a production VM outside its window and see change management refuse it, then override
  • Open a VM’s serial console and log in
  • Browse inventory, monitoring, security and every administration page
Open the console
FOR END USERS

The Victor Cloud portal

The optional self-service portal over a Victor site: a team’s project with servers, volumes, networks, firewalls and load balancers.

  • Create a server and watch it start
  • Start, shut down and reboot servers, and open a server’s serial console
  • Browse servers, volumes, networks, firewalls and load balancers across a team’s projects
  • See graphs, snapshots, backups and the month’s usage
Open the portal

HOW IT WORKS

Real interface, simulated estate.#

The console and portal are the products’ own web interfaces, built from their current source. Instead of a server, a small simulator in the page answers them: it replays a recording of the products’ showcase estate and runs VM actions as tasks with the product’s own labels, steps and timings.

So what you see is how Victor looks and behaves today, including its refusals. The clock starts at the moment the estate was recorded.

What changes

In the console, VM power actions, snapshots and live migration update the inventory, the task list and the event log as they finish. In the portal, servers you create, start, stop or reboot change state and show their actions.

What doesn’t

Other changes, such as settings, roles or new objects, are accepted but not kept. Graphical consoles need a real VM; the serial console works.

What it isn’t

Not a production system and not connected to any hardware. Enterprise features such as federation and migration waves are shown in a guided demo.

FAQ

Test drive questions.#

Do I need an account?

No. The console opens signed in as the showcase’s administrator, platform.admin. Nothing you do is sent anywhere. #

Why does the date look fixed?

The test drive’s clock starts when the estate was recorded and runs on from there, so ages such as “6 minutes ago”, maintenance windows and schedules stay consistent. #

Is this Community or Enterprise?

The Community edition’s interface. Enterprise adds federation, migration waves, advanced backup and regulated-environment controls; request a demo to see those. #

Can I try it on my own hardware?

Yes. Victor is in alpha; see the install options, or join early access and we will help you test it. #
