VICTOR SOLUTIONS / USE CASES

Built for the work your infrastructure carries.

Enterprise applications, platform teams, regulated environments and distributed sites need more than a place to start VMs. Victor brings workload operations, protection, policy and automation together, with evaluation paths for each environment.

01 / A VMWARE EXIT

Leave vCenter without leaving your team behind.#

Your renewal is due and the estate is too large to rebuild by hand. Operators know vCenter and your automation speaks vSphere.

The workflow

Assess the RVTools export offline, size the destination, then install Victor and add vCenter as a source. Write migration plans, test-boot copies of representative VMs, and cut over wave by wave. Operators start in the Classic view, and existing scripts keep reading and powering VMs through the vSphere bridge.

What it needs today

Enterprise for waves, Windows conversion, test boot, rollback and bridge writes. Validate your vCenter version, guest types and network configurations before setting dates.

What to measure

VMs moved per window, rollbacks needed, scripts that broke, and operator tickets in the first month.

02 / A PLATFORM TEAM

Classic VMs and Kubernetes VMs, one operating model.#

Some workloads belong on Kubernetes next to containers; others need a classic VM with shared storage and HA. You do not want two consoles and two permission models.

The workflow

Run KVM clusters for classic VMs and KubeVirt pools for VMs that sit with Kubernetes workloads. Give teams roles on folders and pools, codify placement and capacity in Terraform, and let DRS and HA enforce them. Offer self-service later with Victor Cloud.

What it needs today

Community covers both engines, RBAC, placement and Terraform. Know where engine capabilities differ, such as ACLs and test boot on KVM clusters only.

What to measure

Time to provision, placement violations, failed-host recovery time and the number of places an operator has to look.

03 / A REGULATED SITE

Disconnected infrastructure with evidence on demand.#

The site has no internet path, every change must be attributable, and assessors want proof rather than screenshots.

The workflow

Carry the signed bundle across the boundary, verify and load it, and install. Sign in with CAC/PIV under the DoD preset, enforce fail-closed audit, and export the signed evidence package with OSCAL and STIG files for each assessment period.

What it needs today

Enterprise for CAC/PIV, fail-closed audit, DoD preset, OSCAL and STIG exports and signed FIPS releases. No certification or ATO is claimed; plan your own assessment.

What to measure

Hours spent assembling evidence, findings per assessment, and audit gaps detected.

Public sector and air gap

04 / A DISTRIBUTED ESTATE

Many sites, each able to stand alone.#

Branch sites, plants or regional datacenters need local control that survives a WAN outage, but headquarters needs one view.

The workflow

Run a Victor at each site, join them with federation, and search, watch tasks and alarms and act across sites from one console. Each action runs and is audited at the owning site.

What it needs today

Enterprise federation. Consoles, metrics and backups are opened at the owning site, and cross-site VM moves go through backup and restore today.

What to measure

Time to find an object anywhere, incidents caused by a central dependency (there should be none), and travel to sites.

05 / A LAB OR SMALL SITE

A complete product on spare hardware.#

You need real virtualization for a lab, a school, a small business or a homelab, without license keys or host caps.

The workflow

Install the Victor Host ISO on one machine, join more hosts with a token, set up Ceph from three hosts, schedule backups to a NAS and automate with victorctl or Terraform. Add Victor Cloud if others need self-service.

What it needs today

Community only. The installer erases the disk you select; verify the release and checksum first.

What to measure

Time from ISO to first VM, and how much of the documentation you needed.
